SUGAR HILL - Sugar Hill City Manager Bob Hail said he's extremely pleased the city's golf course was rated in the 2008-09 edition of Golf Digest's "Best Places to Play."
The Sugar Hill Golf Club course received three out of five stars. Nearly 6,000 courses in North America and the Caribbean Islands were rated by about 20,000 Golf Digest readers.
"It's one of the jewels of North Georgia, in my opinion," Hail said. "The quality of golf versus our price is second to none."
In the past four years, the city has renovated everything from the greens and the fairways to the cart paths and club house.
"There's nothing we haven't renovated in the last four years," Hail said. "All that work has come to fruition."
The rating of the Sugar Hill Golf Club and course by the premier golf magazine is an honor Hail said the city cherishes.
The city-owned golf course is open to the public. Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
