BILOXI, Miss. - Despite posting 62 shots on Mississippi netminder Jeremy Duchesne, the Gladiators lost 4-2 on Saturday night at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
The Gladiators got goals from Jordan Fox and Myles Stoesz, but fell to 10-9-4 on the season. It was also the third straight loss to the Sea Wolves, who Gwinnett plays again today at 6 p.m. in Biloxi, Miss. Mississippi jumped out to a 2-0 lead a little under five minutes into the first period. Jeremy Hall scored 41 seconds into the game and Ryan Cruthers made it 2-0 as he slipped the puck past goalie Josh Johnson at 4:27. Gwinnett got on the board on the power play at 8:53 of the first period. Fox collected his 10th goal of the season as he picked up a rebound in the left wing circle and tossed the puck past Duchesne for the goal. Mathieu Melanson and Mike Berry scored to give the Sea Wolves a 4-1 margin before Stoesz lit the lamp at 10:42 of the third period. Stoesz scored his first goal of the season on a penalty shot for the Gladiators, ripping a snap shot past Duchesne. Stoesz drew the penalty as he was hauled down from behind on a breakaway.More like this story
