Ralph Griffin Hale, Jr. age 81 of Dacula, GA died December 12, 2008. Mr. Hale served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and retired from Bellsouth after 34 years of service. He served as Bailiff in Gwinnett County for 13 years. R.G. spent years of dedication and public service in the City of Dacula, he played and instrumental role in establishing the first football program at Dacula High School and was a charter member of the Quarterback Club, a Planning and Zoning Commission member and a City Councilman. Ralph was devoted husband, father, grandfather and a loving family member to all that knew him. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Betty M. Hale; children, Dennis Hale and his wife Deborah of Between, GA, Joan McMillian and her husband Morris, of Dacula, and Griffin Hale, of Dacula; brother, Jimmy Hale and his wife Adeline, of Monroe, GA, grandchildren, Zack McMillian and his wife Alicia, Mandy Edmondson and her husband Nathan and Ralph Griffin “Rusty” Hale, III; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Mahlon & Mavis Burson, of Lawrenceville, GA, William & Mary Dalton, of Dacula, Carnethy Mitchell, of Auburn and Charlene Hale, of Carrollton, GA; he was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Mattie Hale and brother, Malcom Hale. A funeral service will be held Monday, December 15, 2008. at 1:00 P.M. at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel. Rev. Jerry Hewatt and Rev. Mark Chandler will officiate. Burial Gwinnett Memorial Park. The family request's that previous and current Dacula City Council and employees serve as Honorary Escort.
