Heyer to start rest of season for Redskins ASHBURN, Va. - Brookwood grad Stephon Heyer is expected to start at left tackle the rest of the season in place of injured Pro Bowler tackle Chris Samuels. Samuels is out for the season after tearing his right triceps in Sunday's 24-10 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The second-year tackle has nine career starts, including four this season. Heyer was a three-year starter at Maryland where he earned all-ACC honors. The Redskins are 7-6 and have lost four of their last five games. Eagles wrestling to host alumni night Collins Hill will host its wrestling alumni night on Thursday at Collins Hill High School. The Eagles will recognize alumni from the program over the last 14 years. Food and fellowship will be held at 5:30 p.m., prior to Collins Hill's matches with North Gwinnett and Kennesaw Mountain. Hawks get ice hockey win Mill Creek's club ice hockey team defeated Pope 5-1 on Sunday. Jordan Caton and Matthew Bradshaw each had two goals, while Sean Lautzenhiser had a goal. Harbin leads team to Miss. state title Former Berkmar receiver J.J. Harbin helped lead Meridian (Miss.) to the Class 5A football state championship on Friday. Harbin had three catches for 32 yards as Meridian defeated South Panola 26-20 in overtime, snapping the Tigers' 89-game winning streak. Harbin, who started for Berkmar in 2007, had 45 catches for 710 yards his senior year at Meridian.More like this story
