LAWRENCEVILLE - Construction will soon begin on a new tag office in the Peachtree Corners community.
Staffers are expected to move into the state-of-the-art facility in March, Tax Commissioner Katherine Sherrington announced last week. The new office is located at 6135 Peachtree Parkway, Suite 201B, which is at the intersection of Holcomb Bridge Road and Peachtree Parkway in the Market Place shopping center. It's only about a mile and a half from the current location at 5270 Peachtree Parkway in Norcross, where the tax commissioner's office has operated since 1990. The 4,000-square-foot facility will feature a customer service desk, eight frontline customer service work stations and a handicapped-accessible work station. It is expected to service 82,000 in its first year. Officials plan to hold a grand opening event for the new Peachtree Corners tag office in April.
