A legend comes to town
Neil Diamond makes tour stop at Arena

LAWRENCEVILLE - Neil Diamond thinks his current album is one of his best, and fans seem to think so, too.

The singer-songwriter's latest CD, "Home Before Dark," was released May 6 and became the first to hit No. 1 in Diamond's 40-year career highlighted by more than 125 million records sold worldwide, 36 Top 40 hits, a Grammy and a Golden Globe.

"I thought it was produced beautifully and executed beautifully by the band," Diamond said of "Home Before Dark." "We were just trying to create something wonderful, something magical and something that had the right chemistry, which you always try to do."

Diamond's 2008-09 North American tour, which includes performances of favorites like "Sweet Caroline" and "I'm a Believer" and tracks from "Home Before Dark," has been such a success that a third leg was added and includes a show at the Arena at Gwinnett Center on Wednesday.

"I look forward to this being a very productive and exciting tour," Diamond said. "We'll play to a lot of people and we want to present a great show, and that's our only goal."
