Gwinnett Daily Post
The owner of vboggs galleries invites the public to mingle with the artists who have created pieces for the gallery's latest exhibit at an opening this weekend.
"All of my artists have really gotten creative," gallery owner Vanessa Boggs said.
That creativity will be unveiled in the opening and reception for "Renew" from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday. The exhibit features functional art on display and for sale ranging from clocks and handpainted floor cloths to pottery, jewelry and furniture.
Boggs secured four wine barrels from Georgia wineries and invited four artists to use the barrels as their canvasses. Gwinnett artists Linda Lindborg and Ingrid Bolton lent their artistic abilities to the project as two of those artists. A round piece of glass set atop the barrels turns the artwork into tables.
Traditional, handpainted Ukrainian goose egg ornaments by Bolton will also be displayed and available for purchase.
"Gallery opens are always festive," Boggs said. "It's usually just a really good crowd."
