Atlanta company donates $10K to Gwinnett Tech

LAWRENCEVILLE - Atlanta Gas Light, a subsidiary of AGL Resources Inc., has made a $10,000 donation to Gwinnett Technical College.

Funds from the AGL donation will be used to defray tuition costs at the D. Scott Hudgens Jr. Early Education Center, enabling some parents enrolled at Gwinnett Tech to secure child care for their children while they attend college classes. The gift was made through The AGL Resources' Private Foundation on behalf of Atlanta Gas Light to fund scholarships supporting work force education and recruitment.

The Hudgens Center provides child care and preschool to the community, offering infant and toddler care, preschool, Montessori, Georgia pre-K classes and before- and after-school care, serving children six weeks to 8 years old. The Hudgens Center is also a model teaching center for Gwinnett Tech's Early Childhood Education program.
