NORCROSS - Police on Tuesday identified the victim of deadly weekend fight as a 27-year-old Norcross man.
Investigators said Walter A. Martinez Salinas was shot and killed after he was involved in an altercation with two black men Sunday morning at the Huntington Village Apartment Homes off Jimmy Carter Boulevard.
Police said one of the suspects opened fire as Salinas tried to flee in the 1100 block of Forest Vale Lane. He was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center, where he later died.
Both suspects remained at large Tuesday. Police described them as black men between the ages of 20 and 23.
"The motive and exact circumstances surrounding this incident are still under investigation," said Gwinnett police spokeswoman Cpl. Illana Spellman.
