Dickie's shutout keys Buford's win

SUWANEE - Melissa Dickie (1-0) pitched a two- hit shutout as Buford took a 1-0 win over Dacula on Thursday.

Karly Fullem scored the RBI by walking with the bases loaded for the Wolves. Samantha Ramey was 2-for-3 and Whitney Holman, Chelsie Thomas, Alysha Rudnik, Kallie Case and Lexi Overstreet each went 1-for-3 with a hit for Buford (1-1).


Collins Hill 4, Allatoona 1

SUWANEE - Christina Parham (1-0) pitched a complete game and gave up four hits, an unearned run and struck out six batters as Collins Hill defeated Allatoona 4-1 in the Home America Mortgage Invitational on Thursday.

Alexa Lewis was 2-for-3 with a run and Sammy Lenanhan was 1-for-3 with a solo home run. Parham was 3-for-3 at the plate with an RBI and a run for Collins Hill (4-0).

Central 9, Duluth 4

DULUTH - Central Gwinnett beat Duluth 9-4 on Thursday in the Home America Mortgage Invitational.

Jessica Porter (1-1) threw six innings and gave up four runs, eight hits and struck out two for Central.

Allyssa Pane was 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs and Jennifer Matthews was 2-for-3 with three RBIs for Central. Jenny Chamness was 2-for-2 with two walks, and RBI for the Black Knights (3-6).

Sam Metzler and Chantelle Currington each went 2-for-4 and Sam Martin was 2-for-3 for Duluth (1-2). Ivy Knox was the losing pitcher.

Mill Creek 10, Jackson County 0

HOSCHTON - Morgan Bullock and Mill Creek improved their records to 2-0 on Thursday with a 10-0, five-inning rout of Jackson County in the Home America Mortgage Invitational.

Lauren Stimis was 2-for-2 with a run and a stolen base for the Hawks and teammate Karlee Beggs was 2-for-3 with a run and a stolen base. Hannah Graham added a hit, a run and two stolen bases.

Peachtree Ridge 2, East Jackson 0

SUWANEE - Krysten Connelly pitched a complete game shutout, gave up two hits and struck out four batters as Peachtree Ridge beat East Jackson 2-0 on Thursday.

Emily Osterhaus was 1-for-2 and Sade Johnson was 1-for-2 with a base hit. Callie Fernandez and Connelly each had an RBI for Peachtree Ridge (7-1).

Salem 12, Berkmar 0

CONYERS - Salem shut out Berkmar 12-0 on Thursday.

Michael Brown was 1-for-1 for Berkmar (0-3).

Blessed Trinity 9, South Gwinnett 7

SNELLVILLE - Lizzi Perry was 2-for-4 with a run, three RBIs, a single and a double for the Comets, but South Gwinnett fell to Blessed Trinity 9-7 on Thursday.

Jordan Suther was 2-for-3 with a sac bunt and two runs and Heather Smith was 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

Lindsey Hogan pitched seven innings giving up a walk and striking out four batters for South (2-5-1).

Providence 3, Jefferson 2

LILBURN - Providence (6-2) beat Jefferson 3-2 on Thursday.

Kylie Kleinschmidt (4-2) struck out 14 batters, and gave up two unearned runs for Providence.

Morgan Johnston scored the game winning RBI on a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning.

At the plate Kleinschmidt had a single and Kendal White reached on a fielders choice. Courtney Frazier advanced runners on a sacrifice bunt and Megan Johnston scored and RBI on a fielders choice for Providence.

Wesleyan 15, Mt. Pisgah 0

NORCROSS - Brittany Mitchell struck out eight of the nine batters she faced in a three-inning perfect game as Wesleyan defeated Mt. Pisgah 15-0 on Thursday.

The Wolves (2-0) were led offensively by Paige Hamlin, who was 2-for-3 with two triples and three runs. Kelsey Sanders also had a double and three RBIs.


Central wins ones, loses two

HOSCHTON - Central beat South Gwinnett 25-18, 22-25, 25-14 but fell to Brookwood 26-24, 21-25, 23-25 and Mill Creek 8-25, 17-25 on Thursday.

Central falls to 1-2 for the year.

Mill Creek goes 2-for-3

HOSCHTON - Mill Creek fell to Brookwood 25-21, 23-25, 23-25 but beat South Gwinnett 25-16, 25-10 and Central 25-8, 25-17 on Thursday.

Ashley Jackson finished the day with 35 assists and eight aces, and Mo Simmons totaled 13 kills. Lauren Rhodes had 12 kills and Alyson White had eight digs for Mill Creek (4-1).

Broncos pick up three wins

HOSCHTON - Brookwood improved its record 6-2 on Thursday's with three wins over county opponents. The Broncos defeated Mill Creek 21-25, 25-23 and 25-23, Central Gwinnett 24-26, 25-21, 25-23 and South Gwinnett 25-18, 25-10.

Brandi Byers led the way with 24 kills, nine blocks and seven aces. Kelsey Gratton had 12 kills and 71/2 blocks, while Melanie Thompson added 16 kills, six digs and four aces.

Norcross goes 2-for-2

LOGANVILLE - Norcross beat Grayson 25-13, 25-23 and Providence 25-16, 25-14 on Thursday. Rachel Monteagudo had 27 assists and Tiffany Clarke had 17 kills. Briana Jordan had seven kills, 13 digs and 15 aces, while Sara Snider finished with 17 digs for Norcross (3-2).

Providence wins 1, loses 2

LOGANVILLE - Providence beat Grayson 25-22, 16-25, 25-20 but lost to North Springs 16-25, 11-25 and Norcross 16-25, 14-25 on Thursday.

Providence is 2-3 for the year.

Hebron wins two

NORCROSS - Hebron beat Meadowcreek 25-22, 25-20 and Duluth 25-22, 25-23 on Thursday.

Sarah Hedrick had four kills and seven aces and Courtney Bishop had nine kills and two aces. Elisa Murray had 12 kills for Hebron (3-1).
