Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Alexander Spitler Jr. of Cumming announce the engagement of their daughter, Meredith Spitler to Trum Haskell, son of Skip Haskell of Hilton Head, S.C., and Margaret Swett Haskell of Sandy Springs.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Boyd Alexander Spitler of Lawrenceville and the late Boyd Spitler and Mrs. Richard Mohan Kane of Atlanta and the late Richard Kane. She is a graduate of Providence Christian Academy and received a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Georgia. She is doing freelance Web site design in Atlanta. The future groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Sherwin Trumbull Haskell Jr. of Hilton Head, S.C. and Mrs. Albert Hersey Swett of Rochester, N.Y., and the late Albert Swett. He is a graduate of Philips Academy in Andover, Mass. and received a bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Georgia and a master's degree in international affairs from Georgia Tech in 2008.
