LAWRENCEVILLE - Investigators are searching for an ailing 80-year-old man who wandered from his Lawrenceville home Wednesday evening and hasn't been seen since.
Jean Laguerre, of Haiti, was last seen Wednesday at 8 p.m. on the front porch of a house he shares with his daughter in the 900 block of Melrose Woods Court, Gwinnett police spokeswoman Cpl. Illana Spellman said. Laguerre is listed at five feet tall, about 142 pounds with salt and pepper hair. He was last seen wearing green pants with a beige and brown striped shirt and black shoes. Police said Laguerre takes blood pressure medication daily and cannot speak English. The man's daughter told authorities she was with Laguerre on the front porch of their home Wednesday evening and went inside for an unknown period of time. When she returned to check on him, he was gone. There are no signs of foul play, police say. "She told officers that her father never left the residence without a family member," Spellman said. Police conducted a ground and aerial search for two hours Wednesday evening, but found nothing. The case has been assigned to Gwinnett detectives who were to resume search efforts Friday afternoon. "We do investigate all missing person cases, whatever the circumstances," Gwinnett police spokesman Cpl. David Schiralli said. Anyone with information on Laguerre's whereabouts is asked to call the Criminal Investigations Section at 770-513-5300.More like this story
