SNELLVILLE - He's big and hairy, but don't let his appearance - or his name - deceive you. The Beast is really pretty friendly. And he's invited you to brunch.
Brunch with the Beast features the cast of the New London Theatre's production of Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" - those who attend will be welcomed by the gruff but gentle Beast, the sweet and lovely Belle, the arrogant Gaston, the flamboyant French butler and candelabra Lumiere, the motherly housekeeper Mrs. Potts, the flirtatious maid and feather duster Babette, the grumpy head of servants and clock Cogsworth and other enchanted household items that mingle with their guests throughout the event. Kids and parents are invited to enjoy brunch - French toast, pancakes or scrambled eggs with bacon or sausage, a hamburger or chicken fingers - while watching the cast perform songs and scenes from the show from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Snellville Diner, 2302 E. Main St. in Snellville. The event features a rendition of "Be Our Guest" and other songs from the show. Full performances After enjoying brunch with the cast, those who attend can see the full performance of "Beauty and the Beast" at 2:30 and 8 p.m. Saturday and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Performances are staged at the New London Theatre, 2485 E. Main St. in the Snellville Plaza, beside the Snellville Diner.
