Bassett to join 'ER' for final year

NEW YORK - Angela Bassett will don the white coat for the final season of 'ER.'

NBC's medical drama announced that the 49-year-old actress, who won a Golden Globe for playing Tina Turner in 1993's 'What's Love Got to Do With It,' is joining the 'ER' cast.

She'll play an attending physician who is returning to Chicago after doing tsunami relief work in Indonesia.

Her character's toughness hides a troubled past that will unfold during the season, producers say.

Gary Dourdan of 'CSI' arrested on drug charges

LOS ANGELES - 'CSI' co-star Gary Dourdan was arrested Monday for possession of narcotics and dangerous drugs, police said.

The 41-year-old actor was found asleep in his car by the Palm Springs Police Department, authorities said. An officer saw Dourdan's car parked on the wrong side of the street with the interior light on and someone sleeping in the driver's seat at approximately 5:12 a.m. Monday, according to Palm Springs police Sgt. Mitch Spike.

Purported sex tape of Hendrix to be released

LOS ANGELES - Vivid Entertainment is releasing a sex tape allegedly starring Jimi Hendrix.

The Los Angeles-based adult entertainment company said they obtained the sex tape from a memorabilia collector.

The 11 minutes of footage, reportedly shot in a hotel room about 40 years ago, features Hendrix - or someone who looks like him - engaged in various sexual acts with two women.

Weiland pleads no contest to DUI

LOS ANGELES - Scott Weiland has pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor drunken driving charge and was sentenced to eight days in jail.

The 40-year-old rocker entered the plea through his attorney in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday. He also was sentenced to four years' probation and must take part in an 18-month alcohol program.

Weiland came to fame as the lead singer of 1990s Stone Temple Pilots, who regrouped after Weiland split this month from Velvet Revolver, a band also featuring former members of Guns N' Roses.
