LAWRENCEVILLE - Investigators ask for the public's help in tracking down three men wanted for questioning in a January homicide.
Police said two of the unidentified men were seen leaving a Pappadeaux restaurant in Norcross with Lilburn resident Herbert Jay Higgins, 57, before he was found dead in his vehicle Jan. 19. The third man conversed with the other two prior to Higgins' arrival at the restaurant, police said. Gwinnett police spokesman Officer David Schiralli stressed that the men are not suspects in the case. Investigators wish to speak with the men "because they were the last ones to see the victim before his murder," Schiralli said. Police found Higgins slumped over and bleeding in the driver's seat of his silver van, which was parked at the Jimmy Carter Boulevard restaurant, after a resident of a nearby apartment complex called 911. Schiralli couldn't say exactly how the victim was killed. Investigators urge anyone who recognizes the men to contact investigators at 770-513-5386.More like this story
