Four teenagers injured in automobile accident

LAWRENCEVILLE - Four teenagers were injured Wednesday - two seriously - when the car in which they were traveling struck a power pole.

Authorities say the teens were in a white Honda when it lost control on Martin Chapel Road, just east of Bramlett Shoals Road, and struck a utility pole. The pole was broken in half and the vehicle came to rest on its side, Gwinnett fire spokesman Capt. Thomas Rutledge said.

Two occupants suffered serious injuries and were airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center, he said. Two were transported by ambulance to Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville with "moderate" injuries.

All four are expected to survive, Gwinnett police spokesman Officer David Schiralli said.
