NORCROSS - The slaying of a Norcross man found in his apartment earlier in the week is the city's first homicide of 2008, Norcross Police Chief Dallas Stidd said Friday.
Darryl Marcellus Mason, 38, was found by police in his apartment in the 200 block of Meadowood Commons off Beaver Ruin Road late Wednesday. A co-worker of Mason's alerted authorities when Mason didn't show up for work. Police have not commented on the manner in which Mason was killed and have no suspects. His tan 1997 four-door Mazda Protege was missing from the apartment. Stidd said the vehicle's information has been registered with the National Crime Information Center and is asking the public to be on the lookout for the sedan, which police say has driver's side bumper damage. Anyone with information is asked to contact Norcross police at 770-448-2111.More like this story
