BUFORD - A Flowery Branch man was arrested on DUI and first-degree vehicular manslaughter charges in relation to a Thursday morning wreck in which a motorist he allegedly struck later died, authorities said.
Nicholas Schnepper, 21, was also charged with marijuana possession and driving with an open container after he allegedly hit the passenger side of a vehicle that was attempting to make a U-turn on Buford Highway near Enterprise Drive, Gwinnett police spokesman Cpl. Rob Rude said. The driver of the vehicle, whose identity is being withheld by authorities, was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital after being cut out of his car by Gwinnett firefighters. He died Wednesday afternoon. Police say Schnepper could face additional charges. He is currently being held in the Gwinnett County Jail without bond.More like this story
