LAWRENCEVILLE - The legal process continues for a Flowery Branch man accused of quietly knocking off the same Buford bank twice in December.
A Gwinnett grand jury indicted Eddie Charles Hinesley, 41, on charges he twice robbed a SunTrust bank inside a Publix grocer at 5885 Cumming Highway. His arraignment is expected within a month. Police say Hinesley robbed the bank on Dec. 3 and 12 last year by slipping tellers notes demanding money. The notes read simply "This is a robbery," according to an indictment. In the most recent heist, Hinesley left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money in a bag containing a red dye pack, said Gwinnett police spokeswoman Cpl. Illana Spellman. A witness saw a suspect fitting Hinesley's description running to a 2000 or older Ford Mustang. Later that day, police found the bag he carried with the exploded dye. Hinesley was arrested Jan. 9 and remains at the Gwinnett County Jail without bond. He faces two counts of robbery.More like this story
