SUWANEE - Police say three black men robbed a convenience store at gunpoint Monday, forcing clerks to lie facedown as a cash register was emptied.
The armed robbery occurred about 10 p.m. at a Citgo station in the 5 block of North Buford Highway, according to a police report. The men, who were wearing hooded sweatshirts, ordered a store clerk to the ground at gunpoint as they took an unspecified amount of money from a register, a police report states. A second store employee told police she was in a back office when she heard yelling at the checkout counter and hid underneath a desk, the report said. One of the suspects came into the office and ordered her at gunpoint to lie facedown. The men fled in an unidentified vehicle, police say. An employee told police one of the men was "casing the joint" and had purchased juice with a five-dollar bill just moments before the robbery. The bill was taken into evidence. Police intend to review store surveillance footage.More like this story
