Taylor Ann Brooks, age 14, of Lawrenceville, died April 1, 2008 after a courageous battle with childhood cancer. Taylor was a ninth grade student at Collins Hill High School. She was the manager of the varsity girls soccer team and sang in chorus. Taylor was also a first degree black belt in karate and attended McKendree United Methodist Church. She was an amazing, unselfish young lady who was responsible for raising thousands of dollars for the AFLAC Cancer Center at Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta. Taylor was a very loving daughter, granddaughter, sister and friend. She is survived by her parents, Jeff and Melissa Brooks of Lawrenceville, Her sister, Kristen Brooks of Lawrenceville, Maternal grandmother, Betty Webb of Norcross, Paternal Great Grandmother, Alene Brooks of Canton, Paternal Great Grandfather, Fred Edinger of Lavonia, Paternal Grandparents, Glenn & Judy Brooks of Waleska and Ed & Judy Morrison of Rex, Uncle, Brad Webb of Lilburn, Aunt, Melanie Schramm of Coldwater, Ohio, Aunt & Uncle, David & Cindy Brooks of McDonough, and many cousins and friends. A memorial service for Taylor will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at the chapel of Bill Head Funeral Home, Duluth Chapel with Rev. Terry Fleming officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 P.M. just prior to the service.
