Man takes cash from Waffle House

NORCROSS - An employee of a Norcross Waffle House told police a man asking for change robbed him last week.

The man entered the 4151 Jimmy Carter Blvd. location Wednesday and asked for change for $40. The man then demanded that the employee open the register, the employee said.

The employee noticed the suspect continuously reaching for what he thought was a weapon on his left side. He handed the robber $40 from the register, and the man walked out, according to a police report.

The victim described the suspect as a slim black man about 6 feet 4 inches tall, wearing a black bandanna and blue jeans. He drove from the scene in a 1996 to 1999 gold or tan Ford Taurus.

Man finds tree debris in lot

LAWRENCEVILLE - A Lawrenceville convenience store owner told police a contractor with a grudge dumped tree and log debris at his business.

The man flagged down police in the 3400 block of Club Drive shortly after midnight on March 27 after he noticed a pile of logs and trees had been dumped next to his store. The man said he had checked on his store several hours earlier and the debris was not there, according to a police report.

When police asked the man if he knew who might have dumped the limbs, he said he suspected a paving contractor who allegedly did a shoddy job on the store's parking lot.

Fire damages mobile home

BRASELTON - Fire damaged a single-wide trailer in the 1200 block of Ga. Highway 124 near Braselton Sunday afternoon.

The trailer is located on property owned by Cross View Baptist Church.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
