NORCROSS - Two motorists died Monday evening and six were injured in an Interstate 85 crash that shut down all lanes of northbound traffic between Jimmy Carter Boulevard and Indian Trail Road.
Two people were pronounced dead at the scene of the multiple vehicle crash, according to Gwinnett fire spokesman Capt. Thomas Rutledge. Three people were transported to area trauma centers where they were in critical condition Monday night, Rutledge said. One motorist was "moderately" wounded and two others sustained "stable" injuries, he said. The accident happened about 8:45 p.m. on I-85 northbound, just north of Jimmy Carter Boulevard. Traffic was backed up past Spaghetti Junction two hours later. It is unknown what caused the accident.More like this story
