SNELLVILLE - South Gwinnett's Colette Rollins was 2-for-3 with a three-run home run, two doubles, a run and four RBIs to help the Comets take a 6-2 win over Dacula at the Brookwood Invitational on Wednesday.
Hanna Ennis went 2-for-3 with two doubles, an RBI and two runs for South Gwinnett. Mary White (6-5) registered the win after pitching five innings, facing 19 batters, giving up five hits and striking out one. The Comets improve to 12-8 and 3-1 in region. SOFTBALL Norcross 5, Duluth 3 NORCROSS - Jaime Silvester gave up five hits and struck out five batters to register the win as Norcross topped Duluth 5-3 on Wednesday. Alexandra Foulke came in at the top of the fifth and got the save after giving up one hit and striking out three. At the plate, Foulke was 2-for-4 and Anisha Dixon was 3-for-4 with an RBI and a triple. Heidi Shape was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a triple for Norcross as the Blue Devils improved to 8-11-1 and 2-4 in region. Chantel Currinton was 2-for-4 and Sam Marton was 2-for-4 with two doubles for Duluth. Christina Holt was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the night for the Wildcats. Brookwood 7, Wesleyan 1 SNELLVILLE - Brookwood improved to 13-8 after defeating Wesleyan 7-1 in the Brookwood Invitational on Wednesday night. Julia Westbrook was 2-for-3 with three runs and Meredith Hallman was 2-for-3 with two runs. Shivani Ghodadra was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run, while Chelsea Hawkins was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the night. Lisa Pakerson was 1-for-1 and Alison Glisson struck out four and registered the win for the Broncos. Grayson 5, Pike County 1 GRAYSON - Nancy Hill pitched six innings, gave up one run, five hits and struck out five batters to help lead the Rams 5-1 over Pike County. Hayley Downs was 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI and Blake Wilson and Ashley Berger were each 1-for-3 with an RBI. Kelly Ross was 2-for-3 with a run, Heidi McNelly went 1-for-1 and Ariel Larocca was 1-for-1 for the night. Grayson improved to 12-5. North Gwinnett 8, Loganville 0 LOGANVILLE - Mary Beth O'Rouke improved her record to a perfect 10-0 as she led North Gwinnett to an 8-0 victory over Loganville in five innings at the Brookwood Invitational on Wednesday. O'Rouke pitched three innings, allowing one hit and striking out one. Emily Althafer was 2-for-2 with four RBIs, Sammie Rao was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and Ashley Spangler was 1-for-1 with two runs and an RBI. Kennesaw Mountain 3, Peachtree Ridge 2 SUWANEE - Peachtree Ridge fell to Kennesaw Mountain 3-2 on Wednesday night at the Brookwood Invitational. Krysten Connely (9-3) pitched six innings, gave up one hit, three runs and struck out four for Peachtree Ridge. Callie Fernandez went 2-for-3 for the night, while Kensi Weir was 1-for-2 with an RBI. Sade Johnson was 1-for-3 with an RBI and Peachtree Ridge is now 14-6 on the year. Mill Creek 3, Luella 3 SNELLVILLE - Freshman Lauren Kaczynski pitched all five innings and gave up just one earned run for Mill Creek in its 3-3 tie with Luella on Wednesday in the Brookwood Invitational tournament. Amberlie Saxton (1-for-2) and Morgan Bullock (1-for-3) each scored a run with Saxton stealing a base and Bullock stealing two. Alex Rodgers (1-for-3) also stole a base in the tie. Luella 7, Central 6 LAWRENCEVILLE - Allyssa Pane was 3-for-3 with two runs for Central Gwinnett but the Black Knights fell to Luella 7-6 on Wednesday. Rosie Bish was 2-for-2 with two runs and Caitlin Moyer was 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and five RBIs for the Black Knights (13-10). Buford 4, Northgate 0 SUWANEE - Melissa Higginbotham (9-0) pitched a complete game, walked one, gave up four hits and struck out five to help the Buford Wolves shut out Northgate 4-0 at the Brookwood Invitational on Wednesday. Alysha Rudnik was 2-for-4 with a two RBI triple in the top of the seventh for Buford.
