Man found dead at Duluth apartment complex April 19, 2014

Spc. Christopher Gabriel Patton, 21, who grew up in Lawrenceville, GA died Saturday, September 1, 2007 during a routine patrol near Baghdad. Christopher was a 2005 graduate of Central Gwinnett High School, where he was actively involved in both drama and football. Christopher joined the Army in 2005 and was deployed to Iraq with the A Company, 2nd Battalion, 5th Calvary, 1st BCT Division, out of Fort Hood, Texas. He was proud to be an American soldier, and died doing what he loved. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Finis & Dorothy Dake, Edward and Dorothy Lyon, Lt. Wilson Copeland and Garner Patton. He is survived by his parents, David and Melanie Patton of Lawrenceville, GA; brothers, Joshua Patton of Chicago and Nicholas Patton of Lawrenceville; grandparents, Finis Jennings Dake, Jr. of Lawrenceville, Sandra Davis of Arlington, TX and Boyd and Betty Patton of Houston, TX.; great grandmother, Ruth Patton of Cypress, CA; great grandparents, Rufus and Wilma Wilson of Seagraves, TX; uncles, Edward Dake and his wife, Cindy and Tim Patton; cousins, Ryan Dake, Melodie Patton and Christina Patton. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at 11 o'clock at Atlanta Vineyard Church, 6920 Jimmy Carter Blvd #200, Norcross, GA, 30071 with Pastor Johnny Crist officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Atlanta Vineyard Church and will be used to create a memorial prayer garden in Christopher's memory. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 13 and Friday, September 14 from 6 o'clock until 8 o'clock at Atlanta Vineyard Church.
