West blames MTV for Spears' performance

NEW YORK - Kanye West blames MTV for Britney Spears' less than stellar performance at the Video Music Awards, the 29-year-old rapper said Tuesday on Sirius Satellite Radio's 'The Morning Mash Up.'

The network made a 'bad move' by having the troubled pop star open Sunday's event in Las Vegas, said West, who feels he should have kicked off the show with 'Stronger,' the first single from his new album, 'Graduation.'

Justin Timberlake postpones shows citing voice strain

NEW YORK - Justin Timberlake has been ordered to rest his voice.

Timberlake's strained voice is the result of his performance Sunday at MTV's Video Music Awards in Las Vegas and months of touring, Jive Records said in a statement Tuesday.

Tour promoter AEG Live has rescheduled the shows for Sept. 23 in San Jose and Sept. 25 in Sacramento.

Actress jailed on DUI charge

CULVER CITY, Calif. - Kirsten Storms, who voices the snippy cheerleader Bonnie Rockwaller in the animated Disney TV series 'Kim Possible,' was arrested for investigation of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Storms, 23, was arrested after failing field sobriety tests, the report said. She was jailed on the misdemeanor and released several hours later after posting $5,000 bail, authorities said.

DiFranco renames building housing her music label

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Ani DiFranco has renamed the 19th-century Gothic church in Buffalo that she bought and renovated.

Originally dubbed The Church, the venue is now Babeville.

The building houses her music label, Righteous Babe Records, and Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center.

The 36-year-old singer reopened the building in January after she and her manager, Scot Fisher, saved it from the wrecking ball and, with the city's help, poured $10 million into its renovation.
