Cause of house fire undetermined

LAWRENCEVILLE - It is unclear how a fire started at a Lawrenceville home Saturday night.

According to a Fire Department press release, firefighters found fire and smoke issuing from the home on Collins Hill Road at 11:33 p.m.

The main body of fire was brought under control at 11:59 p.m.

Authorities said the blaze heavily damaged the home, but the cause is undetermined.

No injuries were reported.

Day care evacuated after gas leak

LOGANVILLE - A Loganville day care center was evacuated Tuesday morning after a nearby construction crew struck a gas line.

Firefighters responded to reports of the leak near 315 Cooper Road shortly before 11 a.m., according to a Fire Department press release.

An emergency crew from Lawrenceville Gas was able to stop the leak about an hour later. Cooper Road was reopened, and children and adults from the Kids Harbor of Bay Creek day care were able go back inside the building at 12:26 p.m.

Pizza deliverer escapes robbery

BUFORD - A man delivering a pizza said two men tried to rob him as he left a Buford apartment complex Thursday night.

According to a police report, the 19-year-old just finished making a delivery at The Reserve at Ivy on Appaloosa Lane. When driving out of the complex, two men stood blocking his way out.

The men demanded the teen's money and tried to open the door to his vehicle. One of them punched the 19-year-old in the face as he drove away.

The deliveryman said he never saw a weapon.

Woman robbed at Suwanee ATM

SUWANEE - A Suwanee woman's bank card was stolen as she used an ATM on Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road on Wednesday night.

The woman was approached by a young man with a gun while she used the Bank of America ATM in Suwanee.

The woman drove away, leaving her card behind. After calling police, she went back to the bank to retrieve her card, but it was gone.

She said the robber was black, between 16 and 25 years old, and was wearing all black clothes and a black ski mask.
