LAWRENCEVILLE - A drunk Dacula man lost control of his vehicle early Saturday morning and killed his female passenger, Gwinnett police said.
James Daniel Eidson, 36, 1960 Luke Edwards Road, faces charges of vehicular homicide and DUI stemming from the 2 a.m. crash in Lawrenceville. The arrest is Eidson's third DUI charge since December last year, according to jail records. Police records show Eidson's driving privileges were limited prior to the crash. He is also charged with violating the conditions of a limited driving permit and failure to maintain lane in the Saturday arrest. Gwinnett police spokeswoman Cpl. Illana Spellman could not release the name of the woman who died in the crash Saturday. The woman died on scene, Spellman said. Spellman said the crash occurred near the intersection of Old Norcross Road and Herrington Road. Eidson was traveling east on Old Norcross Road when "he lost control and ran off the roadway," Spellman said. Eidson remained at the Gwinnett County Detention Center Saturday on $93,900 bond.More like this story
