LAWRENCEVILLE - Miss the county fair?
Snellville's annual fall carnival will have games, a petting zoo, pony rides and cheaper tickets.
The annual carnival will be held Saturday at T.W. Briscoe Park, Snellville's Parks and Recreation director said. Cyndee Bonacci said she expects between 1,200 and 1,500 people to come to the event.
"There are so many other fall festivals locally," she said. "It's a kids' carnival. This is really a kids' event."
Game tickets cost a quarter each, and the Snellville Lions Club will be selling concessions. The evening will also feature a storyteller, a costume contest and a hay ride.
The city is still looking for volunteers to help take tickets, run games and judge the costume contest. To volunteer, call the park at 770-985-3535.
The carnival takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. at the park, located at 2500 Sawyer Parkway in Snellville.
Bonacci said the city has been putting on the event for years. Short lines and variety are some of its draws, she said.
"For parents who don't want to spend a fortune, it's an ideal evening," she said. "There's something there for any kid."
