Small Business Center to host seminars

LAWRENCEVILLE - The University of Georgia's Small Business Development Center at Gwinnett will be hosting several seminars over the next few weeks.

The Small Business Development Center is a public service unit of the university and a business assistance provider for the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The organization's offices are located at Georgia Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville.

E-commerce/government contracting seminar

' What: Class is aimed at helping business owners understand tools that allow Internet access and teaching them how to make use of these tools.

' When: Thursday, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

' Employment laws for minority entrepreneurs

' What: Participants will learn information on employment discrimination, business-related litigation, police misconduct, automobile accidents and other actions involving personal injury, products liability and intentional torts.

Writing an effective business plan

' What: Class will focus on writing a business plan that helps you start, build and manage your business.

' What: Tips on market research, legal structures, estimating startup costs and cash flow projects for people interested in starting their own business.

' When: Nov. 6, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
