Police seek ID of sex attacker

LAWRENCEVILLE - Gwinnett police have released a sketch of a man suspected of attacking a Lawrenceville woman in her home earlier this month.

The suspect entered the 55-year-old victim's home near Herrington Road and Mission View Lane and physically and sexually assaulted her, according to police.

The attack happened about 10 a.m. on Oct. 6.

Police released a sketch Tuesday of the suspect, who is described as black, in his mid-20s, 6 feet 1 inch tall and about 200 pounds. He has a muscular build and short, black hair.

Gwinnett police spokeswoman Cpl. Illana Spellman said the man did not speak during the attack and fled in either a late model Buick LeSabre or Mercury Sable, blue or silver in color.

"He was last seen wearing red cotton shorts and a white tank top," Spellman said in a release.

Gwinnett police urge anyone who recognizes the suspect to call the criminal investigation division at 770-513-5300 or the Crime Tip Line at 770-513-5390.
