Singer pleads not guilty to phone assault
NEW YORK - Foxy Brown was singing a different tune Tuesday when she showed up in court four days after refusing to appear to face assault charges.
The 28-year-old rapper, who is serving a year at Rikers Island prison for violating probation, arrived at Brooklyn state Supreme Court wearing casual street clothing.
She pleaded not guilty to charges that she threw a cell phone at a neighbor who complained about the volume of her car radio.

NEW YORK - A man has accused Sean 'Diddy' Combs of punching him out during a dispute at a trendy Manhattan nightspot, but the rap mogul's lawyer called it a harmless 'disagreement.'
Police were investigating the report of an assault early Saturday at the club in SoHo but declined to identify any suspects.
Law enforcement officials confirmed news accounts Tuesday that Combs, 37, was the alleged assailant.

LOS ANGELES - J.K. Rowling made a rare U.S. appearance, reading at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood in front of scores of wand-clutching would-be wizards and witches.
Seated on a gold throne with plush red cushions, Rowling read Monday from the seventh and final of her novels on Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.'
The reading was part of a weeklong visit by Rowling to the states known as the 'Open Book Tour.'
