Man robbed at gas station

DULUTH - A man was putting air in his tires at Sim's Gas Station in Duluth when three men held him at gunpoint on Saturday night, a police report said.

The victim said three young black men approached him at around 10 p.m. while he was at the rear of the Pleasant Hill Road gas station.

One man pulled a gun and demanded all his money. The victim gave them $3 and the men fled. A witness confirmed the incident, but a more detailed description could not be given.

Reluctant robber takes bank's money

STONE MOUNTAIN - An undisclosed amount of money was taken from a local Wachovia Bank on Tuesday by a man who claimed he was being forced to do it to get his family back, a police report said.

A man approached a teller at the Wachovia at 5250 Stone Mountain Highway in Stone Mountain at 1:06 p.m. on Tuesday and began asking a about opening a checking account.

He then handed a note to the teller telling her to give him all her money. The note said he didn't want to do this, but "they" have his family, the report said.

The teller gave the man the money and he fled the scene. The teller said she did not see a gun and the man did not say anything about a gun.

The robber is described as a black man about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds.

Man loses way home, finds police

SNELLVILLE - A Snellville man was arrested and charged with being a pedestrian under the influence early Wednesday morning.

Anthony Ray Thompson Jr., 24, was found walking along the street near the intersection of Annistown Road and Spain Road in Snellville at 1:45 a.m.

He was approached by an officer who said in a police report Thompson's speech was slurred and there was a strong odor of alcohol coming from him.

Thompson told the police officer he was trying to get home from a party.
