LAWRENCEVILLE - A Loganville man was indicted this week on charges he killed a passenger in the Lexus he was allegedly driving drunk in December 2005.
Christopher Kelly Conner, 33, faces two counts of homicide by vehicle and related charges.
Conner is also charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol. Police said he was legally drunk when he wrecked his 1997 Lexus on Rosebud Road just after 2 a.m. on Dec. 24, 2005, according to the indictment released Thursday. Conner also faces charges of reckless driving and speeding. His arraignment is expected within a month.
Police said Conner lost control of his vehicle and struck a utility pole, killing Rick Ainsworth, 30, also of Loganville. Ainsworth was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
Conner was wearing his seat belt while Ainsworth was not, police said.
