LAWRENCEVILLE - A cement truck rear-ended a Gwinnett County school bus Wednesday morning, sending 41 students to a hospital to be checked for injuries, school district spokesman Jorge Quintana said.
No serious injuries were reported, and all of the students were released from the hospital, Quintana said. The accident happened at 8:20 a.m. at the intersection of West Pike Street and Hurricane Shoals Road, Quintana said. The bus was headed for Lawrenceville Elementary. The school district notified parents of the accident, Quintana said. The bus driver was given a drug test, as is routine in any accident, Quintana said. Because she was not at fault in the incident, she is expected to be back at work today.More like this story
