Steve and Barry's among new stores coming to local malls

LAWRENCEVILLE - Sarah Jessica Parker's popular new clothing line will finally be making its way to metro Atlanta.

The Mall of Georgia and Discover Mills announced Wednesday that five new stores will be added in the coming months. Among them will be Steve and Barry's - the exclusive carrier of Sarah Jessica Parker's Bitten line of clothing.

Bitten's growing popularity is due in part to the product, but also the price. Everything in the line is under $19.98, according to its Web site.

Previously, the closest Steve and Barry's had been at Perimeter Square Mall in Athens. There are also two other Georgia locations in Brunswick and Savannah.

Steve and Barry's will be located near Sun and Ski Sports in Discover Mills. The store offers casual wear for the entire family, licensed apparel from top brands and the largest collection of collegiate licensed apparel in the nation, according to a press release.

The store has set a tentative opening date of Nov. 19, said Yvonne Jacobs, director of marketing for Discover Mills.

Jacobs said the Lawrenceville mall is extremely excited about the addition of Steve and Barry's because it's a value-oriented store, it will add another anchor and it's expected to attract shoppers from all over the metro area.

"It's just a perfect all-around fit for us," Jacobs said.

Also coming to Discover Mills will be The Disney Store Outlet, which features clothing, toys and collectibles and is expected to open in early November, and Belis USA, a junior ladies and women's clothing store set to open on Oct. 19.

A temporary space will also be opened by Spirit Halloween, a seasonal costume and decoration store.

The Mall of Georgia will add Chico's, a women's clothing, accessory and jewelry store, and Justice, a clothing store aimed at teenage girls. Both are expected to open late in the fall.
