LILBURN - A 20-year-old woman is accused of trying to rob a Lilburn gas station while armed with a pool stick, according to an arrest warrant.
Deatrah Carman of 2620 Ross Road in Lilburn along with a juvenile male allegedly tried to gain entry into the Shell Xpress Mart on U.S. Highway 78 shortly after midnight Monday.
The juvenile's name was not released due to his age.
According to a police report, the pair tried to go through multiple entrances but the store clerk would not unlock any door to let the pair inside.
Both were allegedly dressed in black and wearing masks.
When Gwinnett County Police arrived they found Carman crouched behind an ice machine near outside a gas station door with a pool stick in her hand.
As authorities moved closer Carman fled toward a back parking lot and was apprehended by police in a wooded area behind the station, the report said.
The young man was found trying to enter a side door to the business.
Two pool sticks were found near the station. According to the report, Carman admitted to throwing the cues into the woods because she did not want to have "deal with the police."
Carman was arrested and charged with criminal attempt to commit a crime and wearing a mask to conceal identity. She remains at the Gwinnett County Jail with out bond.
The juvenile was released to his uncle.
