Dr. John Allen Garner, 43, of 404 Pierpont Court, Canton, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2007 at Emory University Hospital. He was born in Atlanta on December 16, 1963. A 1982 graduate of Norcross High School, Allen was a graduate of Georgia State University and the Emory University School of Medicine. He was employed by Emory University as an associate professor and practiced internal medicine as a hospitalist at the Cartersville Medical Center. Allen was the grandson of Dr. & Mrs. John P. Garner and the great-grandson of Dr. & Mrs. James Ryan Garner. Survivors include his wife, Brandy Garner; his daughter, Ryan Nicole; his son, Thomas Jackson; his parents, Ryan and Donna Garner and Dan and Anita Simmons; his brother, Jimmy Garner; his sisters, Darlene Gaboriau, Dee Zeh, Tina Garner, and Nina Dean; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, as well as many beloved friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cartersville. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
