NORCROSS - Bank employees refused to let a man inside the bank Monday morning prohibiting him from possibly robbing the business, police said.
According to Norcross Police Department Capt. Brian Harr, a masked man armed with a silver handgun emerged from some nearby bushes as the employees were nearing the entrance to the Regions Bank on Buford Highway about 8 a.m. Though the man was armed, police said employees did not allow him to enter the bank. The man fled on foot. "We did recover some of the items believed to be used, including the weapon," Harr said. According to police, witnesses described the suspect as a black man, age 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 11, inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds. As the holidays near, Harr said armed robberies tend to increase.More like this story
