Georgia Gwinnett College director wins award
LAWRENCEVILLE - Jennifer Stephens, Georgia Gwinnett College's director of public affairs, received the 2007 Georgia Education Advancement Council's Award for Distinguished Service in Public Relations at the Council's annual meeting in Brasstown Valley.
Remax raises funds for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta
DULUTH - Remax Around Atlanta - Duluth's October charity auction-raised $25,000 for the Children's Miracle Network to benefit Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. The charity auction, "Evening of the Stars," was held at the new Aurora Theatre in downtown Lawrenceville.
Atlanta Auction Company, owned by Larry and Lucy Troutman, donated their services for the event. Lucy Troutman is a Realtor at Remax Around Atlanta.
Richardson Housing Group earns 2 OBIEs
LAWRENCEVILLE - Richardson Housing Group won two OBIE Awards from the Sales and Marketing Council of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association.
The company received a gold award for the Danielson floor plan at its Thorncrest community in Tucker and a silver award for the Walker plan at Wynterberry Parke in Lawrenceville. This is the third consecutive year Richardson Housing has won at least one gold award at the OBIEs.
The OBIE Awards, which began in 1980, are given to recognize major achievement in building, marketing and remodeling. Judges received more than 650 entries this year.
Family-owned Richardson Housing Group has built more than 3,000 homes since its beginning in 1973.
Sterling on the Lake earns gold and silver OBIEs
FLOWERY BRANCH - Sterling on the Lake, a Newland Community, won two awards at The 2007 Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association's OBIE Awards ceremony.
The community won the gold award for "Best E-Marketing" and a silver award for "Best Realtor Promotion - Developer/Builder."
The Sterling on the Lake 2007 e-marketing campaign featured banners, graphics, pop-ups and promotional prizes designed to lure prospective home buyers to visit the community.
Sterling on the Lake's 2007 Realtor program earned the silver award for its development of unique concepts for Realtors, such as promotional items, prizes, recognitions, invitations and an online rewards program.
The community was named the 2006 Master Planned Community of the Year by the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association. It will be home to 1,800 families when completed.
