LAWRENCEVILLE - Crews will shift traffic on Ga. Highway 20 Tuesday, another milestone in the widening project near Grayson.
If weather allows, traffic will be moved from Grayson-New Hope Road to Hillside Road, said Georgia Department of Transportation spokeswoman Teri Pope. "By scooting traffic over we will have room to work on the 'old' lanes of (Ga.) 20," Pope said. "This is the second of many traffic shifts on the project. Please slow down and give yourself extra time to travel through the work zone as conditions are continually changing. Remember to slow down because all fines are doubled in a work zone." Crews are expected to complete the 4.2-mile widening, which extends from Plantation Boulevard to Cooper/Ozora Road, by Aug. 31. Travelers can call 511 for updated information about this project. Georgia 511 is a free phone service that provides real-time traffic and travel information statewide, such as traffic conditions, incidents, lane closures, construction, and delays due to bad weather.More like this story
