Let's Eat opens in John's Creek
I know, I know. You're completely and utterly stuffed from the big turkey day. The last thing you want to think about is another meal. Unless, of course, said meal is something you didn't have to prepare yourself.
Let's Eat!, the latest entry into the world of self-assembly meals, has set up shop in John's Creek. Owned by local husband-and-wife duo Jeff and Lisa Shumas, the make-and-take franchise offers an ever-changing menu, with recipes such as Farmers Market quiche, Caribbean pork tenderloin and sesame-crusted tuna steaks. Offering fresh, seasonal and ready-in-minutes meals, Lets Eat! deserves that exclamation mark.

Fifth Group gets first-place award
I can't say I'm surprised. Touting outstanding restaurants such as Ecco, Food Studio, La Tavola Trattoria and South City Kitchen, it's no wonder Fifth Group has come in first place.
Restaurant group owners Robby Kukler, Steve Simon and Kris Reinhard were awarded the Georgia Restaurant Association's Crystal of Excellence Award (GRACE) for Restaurateur of the Year on Nov. 11.
Fellow finalists included Anna and Raymond Hsu, owners of Silk Restaurant, Pacific Rim Bistro and Hsu's Gourmet Chinese Restaurant; and Nancy Oswald, co-owner/franchisee of Ruth's Chris Steak House. The GRACE award winners were nominated by the Georgia Restaurant Association membership, and the honors were presented to current members of the association that show a strong devotion to the industry.

New meal pick-up location added
A good workout and a good meal? That's no sweat, now that Good Measure Meals has added new pick-up sites at Xtreme Transformations in Suwanee and Buford.
Good Measure Meals offers nutritionally balanced meals for fitness-conscious individuals, people too busy to cook (i.e. everyone), as well as those with special dietary requirements and health conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure. Meals are delivered to homes and offices, or can be picked up at locations throughout the metro area Mondays and Thursdays.
The meal preparation service features menus for three meals a day, seven days a week. Diet plans can be customized, ranging from a full five-week cycle to just dinner packages. This isn't the cabbage soup diet, either. Sample menus include meals featuring horseradish salmon, turkey zucchini meatloaf and Brazilian-grilled beef steak. You know, real food.
