J. A. Harrison, age 88, of Snellville, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2007. Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM, Wednesday, November 21, 2007 in the Lawrenceville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. A. J. Mullinax & Howard Thomas officiating. Burial White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Duluth. Mr. Harrison was best known in the community for always being at the side of Rev. Hoyt Thomas, delivering food to those in need, visiting folks at the hospitals, nursing homes and funeral homes. He was a member of Harrell Grove Baptist Church for 56 years. He accepted his calling & became an ordained minister there almost 30 years ago. He was retired from Ford Motor Plant in Hapeville with 33 years of service. Mr. Harrison was preceded in death by his wife, Martha “Lucy” Harrison, parents, Jessie “Pip” and Bessie Harrison, brother, Hubert Harrison, sisters, Esmer Haney, Essie Britt and Virginia Dutton. He is survived by: Children: Jimmy & Hope Harrison, Panama City, FL; Deborah & David Dunlap, Snellville; Brother: Troy Lamar Harrison, Fairburn; Sister: Grace Simpson, Lawrenceville; 6 Grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 PM, Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at the Tim Stewart Funeral Home, 300 Simonton Road, Lawrenceville, Georgia 30045, 770-962-3100.
