Fire stopped before it spread
LILBURN - An early morning apartment fire was contained to one room and extinguished Friday.
Gwinnett Fire was called to the complex at 1100 Indian Trail Road shortly after 4 a.m., according to a press release. Crews found a small fire inside a single apartment unit.
The fire was already out when they arrived and damaged only items inside the room.
No injuries were reported.
Cigarettes stolen from RaceTrac
SUWANEE - While backs' were turned, a man stole a bundle of cigarette cartons from a RaceTrac tractor-trailer, workers told police Tuesday.
According to a police report, a heavy set black man rushed inside the trailer and stole a pack of 30 cartons of Marlboro cigarettes, valued at more than $800.
One employee said he saw the man run from the trailer, which was parked outside the station located at 3195 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road.
Men rob Smoothie King
LILBURN - A local smoothie business was robbed Wednesday night by two armed men.
According to a police report, two black men entered the Smoothie King at 4747 Stone Mountain Highway in Lilburn and demanded money from the 19-year-old man working behind the counter.
One man wielded a gun and the other a hand-held Taser, the report said. Both men were masked.
The men searched through the pockets of the 19-year-old as well as another employee, taking a wallet and a cell phone.
The men fled with more than $300.
