BUFORD - According to Buford School Superintendent Geye Hamby, all of the schools in the district will participate in the upcoming Holiday Parade and Festival scheduled for Dec. 1.
The high school band will help lead the parade, and the Buford Academy chorus and an ensemble from the middle school will also participate in the parade. The Buford Elementary School chorus will perform in the park after the parade, as will the groups from Buford Academy and the middle school. The parade will begin at 2:30 p.m. along Main Street, and the annual Christmas tree lighting will follow the parade at 5:30 p.m. School system to appoint steering committee members Hamby and Assistant Superintendent Allison Miller recommended to Board of Education members Friday that a system improvement stakeholders steering committee be established. The committee would serve in an advisory capacity, gathering input from school system stakeholders to continually improve schools. "This committee would give us a global perspective," Miller said. The committee will meet quarterly once three initial meetings are held to establish foundational guidelines. The first meeting is tentatively scheduled for 7 a.m. Dec. 14 at the Fine Arts Center.More like this story
