To the editor: Bible says not to mock God, so why does Shipp do it?

What Bill Shipp may not realize (but probably does) is that when he mocks Gov. Sonny Perdue for setting aside a day for Georgians to pray for rain ("Perdue needs some advice from above," Perspective, Nov. 14), he is not actually mocking the governor. He is mocking God - the God who made him.

I don't appreciate Shipp's utter lack of respect for God, or the flagrant flippancy with which he speaks of our Maker.

The Bible says God will not be mocked. Therefore, remind me not to stand next to Shipp when the next thunderstorm does show up in Georgia.
