Police search for 'Bicycle Bandit'

DULUTH - A suspected bank robber authorities have dubbed the "Bicycle Bandit" has struck again, this time robbing a Duluth Bank of America.

Duluth Police Department Capt. Mark Hunter said the man, who typically flees from his crimes on a bike, robbed the bank at 3595 Peachtree Industrial Blvd. at 11:34 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said the bandit is a white man, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall, 160 pounds, with a pale sunken face, thick round glasses and dark hair. They say the man was wearing an orange button-up shirt and baseball cap at the time of the Duluth robbery.

Hunter said the man has robbed financial institutions all over metro Atlanta.

"I know he's hit many banks this year," Hunter said. "The earliest I know of right now is March."

Hunter said the man typically presents a note demanding money. He said in Wednesday's robbery no weapon was presented.
