LAWRENCEVILLE - A small-scale lifestyle center mirroring the feel of The Forum will be constructed across the street from the Peachtree Corners shopping destination.
Lee Tucker, who represents developer Roberts Properties, said the project will be built on seven and a half acres at the corner of Peachtree Parkway and Peachtree Corners Circle, across the street from the J. Alexander's restaurant.
Tucker said the center will have water features and landscaping like The Forum, but tiled roofs and arches that evoke a Mediterranean feel.
"I think they will be a great amenity to the Peachtree Corners area," he said. "They're going to add to the great things The Forum has done for the community."
Tenants for the 77,000-square-foot shopping center are still in the works, but Tucker said he anticipates high-end boutiques and other similar stores.
The new project will be much smaller than the 580,000-square-foot Forum, Tucker said, and not a destination center. But its construction will evoke its neighbor across the street.
"I don't see them as competitors," he said.
