Super 8 robbed in Suwanee

SUWANEE - Police are searching for three black men suspected of robbing a Super 8 Motel in Suwanee late Monday night.

Dressed in black, the men entered the motel at 317 Sawmill Drive, struck an employee in the face with the butt of a rifle and then fled with about $2,100 in cash, according to a Suwanee police report.

The motel employee was treated at the scene and released.

The victim told police the two suspects who didn't strike him wielded handguns.

Another witness told police he saw the three suspects head northbound on Sawmill Road in a late-model red or maroon Ford Explorer.

Police were unable to track down the vehicle.

According to the police report, the motel was not equipped with video surveillance.

Suwanee police have reason to believe the suspects fit the same description as men who've committed up to four armed robberies in the Buford area.
