NORCROSS - Gwinnett County just got 20 new jobs.
Charlotte-based Peak 10, a privately owned data center operator, opened its 11th center Tuesday in a 33,000-square-foot facility on Northwoods Parkway in Norcross.
Although the company operates offices in Nashville, Tenn.; Jacksonville, Fla.; Tampa, Fla.; Louisville, Ky.; Raleigh N.C.; Charlotte, N.C.; and Richmond, Va., this is its first foray into the Atlanta market.
The Norcross facility will serve businesses that want to outsource their data management. It will provide managed collocation, enterprise hosting, high performance bandwidth, data disaster recovery, storage, monitoring, management, security and data protection.
Peak 10 was founded in 2000 by David Jones of Charlotte.
Through building the facility and purchasing infrastructure products, the company expects to contribute $20 million to the local economy over the next five years, said Searfoss. "We will probably double in size in a year or two," Matt Searfoss, vice president and general manager of the Norcross office said.
Within two years, Jones expects the Norcross office to generate about $6 million in annual gross sales, he said.
